"The production establishes the right tone from the start; the choreography is animated and creative, while the singing deftly captures mood and emotion...The cast captures the satiric tone of the piece in many ways. They include the teenage girls of Sweet Apple placing their hands over their hearts, one by one and with a flourish, to cite the 'Conrad Birdie Pledge.' The small town girls squeal and faint at the mere mention of his name. In this production, cast members playing those girls do so with the right dose of exaggeration."
